Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has been tight-lipp about striker Darwin Nunez being drop from the squad for last week’s 2-1 win over West Ham after being told he was struggling to concentrate and was sloppy in training, but insist the Reds forward needs to score.

Darwin has score just five league goals this season, partly due to a lack of chances and was even sent off training last week for being absent-mind.

Latest Slots stated that the คาสิโนออนไลน์ UFABET ฝากถอนรวดเร็ว เริ่มต้นเล่นง่าย players are not sick, they just don’t feel like themselves and their teammates are fed up.

“He wasn’t feeling himself before the game and was ask to come in from training, so he wasn’t called up the next day,” Slot said at a press conference ahead of the game against Leicester (April 20).

“Impersonality can be interprete in many ways – Darwin is not himself.”

“It’s not because I’m sick.”

At the same time, Slot also urged the 25-year-old players to perform well if they want to stay together.

“You need a No.9 who can score goals,” the 46-year-old added.

“That’s why you’re a centre-forward, not a winger, so a striker has to score goals.”

“Otherwise, in today’s football, number 9 is like a winger, a midfielder, a defender. They have to work hard, be part of a team that plays with intense pressing.”

“Take the four teams in the Champions League semi-finals for example. They are the teams where all 11 of them ran until they were dead.”

“I expect the same from our striker. He has to be part of a team that presses hard. But most importantly, if you are Liverpool’s No. 9 or any team in the world, you have to score goals. That’s the short answer.”

Liverpool are eyeing a target striker in the 2025 summer market , one of which is Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
